Tai Seng is known to be an industrial area filled with warehouses and factories. Many of us hence assume that the place is too ulu to have any good eats, but the area is, in fact, home to loads of good eats.

From piping hot bowls of fish soup to delectable xiao long baos, this place has more than meets the eye. For those of you who work here or nearby, here are 10 places you should check out during your next lunch break!

Chuan Qee Collage

This hidden gem in a coffee shop near Tai Seng MRT dishes out authentic Chinese food. Craving for xiao long bao but Din Tai Fung would be too painful on the wallet? Fret not as Chuan Qee sells affordable bamboo baskets of these that makes for a pretty good (and cheap) alternative.

Salted Egg Chicken Dice Rice GLC Restaurant

This Halal-certified eatery located just a 5-minute walk away from Tai Seng MRT serves a huge range of zi char items. We’d recommend the Salted Egg Yolk Chicken Dice Rice (S$5.50) which sees a rather large helping of crisp chicken coated in a luscious and creamy salted egg yolk sauce that is slightly spicy.

Despite having a Michelin star, the food here at Hawker Chan is kept very reasonably priced, which is great for people who are looking for an affordable place to have lunch. A hearty portion would set you back by around S$5!
