Simpang Bedok may be known to be a popular supper haunt for those who live in the East, but this area offers great daytime options too! Any mee pok connoisseur would say that the key to a good bowl of mee pok is the chilli.
The small Mee Pok (S$5) came with a fishball, a meatball, bean sprouts, pork lard and of course, minced pork. Mixing everything together, the sauce had enough chilli and grease to really coat each strand of noodle equally. The mee pok was cooked al dente, just how we like it!
The highlight of this mee pok had to be the fishball. Extra plump and larger than usual, we could tell it was handmade just by looking at it. Biting into it, not only was our guess was confirmed but it was one of the best fishballs we’ve had! Jalan Tua Kong Lau Lim Mee Pok – The Art of Mee Pok has definitely mastered this fine craft and at the same time elevated it with their handmade fishballs.
