Tanglin Halt Market’s Delicious Duck Noodles with Long Queues Daily From 5am Onwards

Filled with traditional eats and old-school hawker stalls, Tanglin Halt Market is one for the early-risers, with businesses opening as early as 5am – a possible breakfast option for those who club till late after all the dancing.

Apart from the famous Wei Yi Laksa & Prawn Noodles, Delicious Duck Noodles at Tanglin Halt Market is another popular stall that attracts long queues daily.

We tried out their Duck Meat Noodles (S$4) with a mixture of yellow noodles and kway teow. The noodles were topped with a generous amount of lean duck meat, with absolutely no bone at all, yay! The duck was tender, thinly sliced and did not have any gamey smell.

The sauce that coated the noodles evenly were lightly flavoured; no prominent flavours stood out to us. We believe that it was a mixture of braised duck sauce, soya sauce and chilli.

However, this bowl of duck noodles did not coat our mouths with an oily aftertaste. Which might make a good breakfast option for most, as nobody wants to have something too overbearing in the morning.

We enjoyed the bowl of slightly herbal soup that came with our order. It helped to wash down the eggy taste of the yellow noodles; a palate cleanser in between.
