SweeT.Rex – S$4 Fluffy Soufflé Pancakes in Alexandra Village Food Centre

We all love a good soufflé pancake – jiggly, fluffy and perfect for satisfying that sweet craving. However, soufflé pancakes often have a hefty price tag along with that Instagram-worthy wobble. What if we told you that you could possibly have the best of both worlds?

At SweeT.Rex, tucked away in Alexandra Village Food Centre, these cloud-like soufflé pancakes won’t burn a hole in your wallet while you indulge! Check out what we ate and what we thought about this hawker centre dessert spot.

Of course, we had to try their signature Soufflé Pancakes (S$4) and for an extra S$1 top up, we managed to get a small scoop of Chocolate Cookies ice cream with the pancake. You can also choose between Strawberry, Chocolate and Caramel sauce to drizzle over your fluffy delights. We decided on the sticky sweet Caramel sauce!

The soufflé pancakes were light and fluffy – not anything short of those you get at fancier establishments. They had a slightly eggy taste but the ice cream and the caramel sauce would balance it out. For S$5, we think that this plate was pretty satisfying!

Other than pancakes, SweeT.Rex also serves other desserts such as Milk Pudding and homemade No-Bake Cheesecakes (available in Chocolate or Lemon). We tried their Classic Lemon Cheesecake (S$3.80). The cheesecake was had a nice zesty lemon flavour and a smooth, almost jelly-like texture, all while being balanced out by the buttery oreo-cookie crust underneath it.

If you’re in the area, SweeT.Rex is the perfect stall to grab a quick sweet treat after your mid-day lunch break! It really shows you don’t have to break the bank for some good desserts.
