Home to dozens of well-known stalls, this food centre contains many food gems and it is inarguable that Seng Hiang Bak Chor Mee is amongst one of the most, if not the most, popular stalls there.
Cheap yet superb in terms of taste and quantity, Seng Hiang Bak Chor Mee is truly one of the best we’ve ever tasted, and is one that we’ll happily make the journey down for any day.
Do not let the simple appearance of this bowl of noodles fool you—prepared using simple ingredients including handmade egg noodles, pork meatballs, minced pork and soup, the combination of these straightforward elements result in an explosion of flavours that promise both comfort and amazing flavour.
Slightly chewy and springy just the way we like it, their handmade egg noodles make all the difference compared to factory-made ones.
For S$3, you can expect a substantial portion of noodles along with a generous topping of minced pork, diced red chilli and 5 pieces of meatball to go with it. Otherwise, you may opt for the smaller portion which costs just S$2.50.
Incredibly tender, bouncy and smooth, their meatballs are delightful to have and provides a good mouthfeel but what truly stole the show for us is the savoury broth which came with soft minced pork and pork lard.
