These Lifelike Puppy-Shaped Cakes Are Too Cute To Cut Into
These realistic-looking puppy-shaped ice cream desserts recently became all the rage after a video of a person cutting into the adorable pup went viral.
The trend started in Taiwan, at a café called J.C. Co Art Kitchen that gained a popular following for their adorable puppy-shaped gelatos. If you are looking to jump onto this bandwagon, you would be glad to know that it is now available in Singapore!
Started by a fairly new bakery called Nouveau, the puppy-shaped cakes actually look pretty similar to the ones sold in Taiwan. However, unlike the original, the one in Singapore comes in a form of a cake instead of ice cream. Too cute to cut into? We agree.
Some might find it absurd, while others might admire the sheer craftsmanship of the cake. But no one can deny that their Chocolate Shar Pei (S$9.90) is made realistically. Every feature is on-point from the appendage to wrinkle, in fact, it is so brilliantly sculpted that it feels almost as if cutting into it will hurt it.
However, once you get past the scarring first appearance, you are treated to one heck of a delectable and decadent chocolate mousse sponge cake. Behead the little puppy or dive straight into its body (we can’t believe we’re saying this) and you will find yourself getting addicted to the rich and creamy chocolate delight.

Apart from edible puppies, Nouveau also offers a variety of castella cakes with different flavours like Pandan Gula Melaka (S$9.90) and Black Charcoal Custard Cake (S$9.90).
