What’s life without a little creativity and fun? It will probably be rather meaningless and dull, but that is why we are so thankful when we come across cafes and eateries with exciting concepts and has a story to tell with their food.
Led by Yvette, Hatter Street Bakehouse & Cafe is a quaint and cosy cafe tucked away under Blk 212 Hougang Street 21. Seeking to bring all patrons on a food journey charged with passion, creativity and spontaneity, this is one cafe that you can turn to whenever you need to satisfy your sweet tooth.
When we first stepped into Hatter Street Bakehouse & Cafe, we were greeted by the unique array of wall decorations of which various quotes and words were scribbled on. There was also a comfortable couch at the corner of the cafe for you to recline on.
Always drawn to vibrant colours, we opted to try the Paddlepop Cheesecake (S$6.50). As expected, the Paddlepop Cheesecake was creamy and had a light, mousse-light texture. However, the Paddlepop Cheesecake was slightly underwhelming in flavour and that would have made the cake much tastier.
What impressed us most at Hatter Street Bakehouse & Cafe was the Whoaffles + Single Scoop (S$9). We chose to enjoy our Whoaffles + Single Scoop (S$9) with Rum Butterscotch Salted Pecans ice cream and Salted Caramel Sauce (S$0.50).
The waffle was crispy, firm and the touch of cinnamon took its taste to the next level. And the Rum Butterscotch Salted Pecans ice cream? There is no other way to describe it but – delicious. This dish was worth all the calories and it took us to dessert heaven.
