The Blend Inc – Traditional Coffee Reinvented at the Hainanese Village Centre

Before the move to its current home in the busy Hainanese Village Food Centre, The Blend Inc had called Fengshan Market & Food Centre its home.

Much like the loyal crowd at their previous location, the fairly new store has continued to garner more following at their new home, which is evident in the queues outside their stall.

Braving the heat and the crowd, we paid a visit to the store and got ourselves a Set A (S$3) which comprised a small hot chocolate, 1 slice of kaya toast and 2 soft-boiled eggs.

Unlike the typical kaya toast that you might get at other coffee stalls, the kaya that they used were on the less sweet side which definitely made for a healthier breakfast option. It also provides a great balance of taste for those who enjoy dipping their toast into the mix of soft-boiled eggs.

Our hot chocolate, though sounded a little fancy, tasted more like a cup of hot milo which wasn’t too bad considering that it did complete the meal.

In addition to the breakfast sets that they have, The Blend Inc is really not the typical kind of drink stall that you would find at a hawker centre. In fact, they’ve got quite an array of specialised coffees, teas and blended ice drinks that could liken them to a more affordable version of your usual high-end coffee chains. 

Needless to say, we will definitely be making another trip back to their stall to try out their other drinks soon!
