Hock Hai Curry Chicken Noodle — Skip The Bowls Of Laksa And Have This Instead

Tucked away in a corner of Bedok Interchange Hawker Centre is Hock Hai Curry Chicken Noodle. This humble stall can easily be spotted by its long, snaking queues. The stall has been around for a really long time and its booming business is a clear testament of how the quality of noodles served here has remained consistently good.

We ordered a bowl to share and was utterly blown away. The curry sauce was fragrant, creamy yet light enough to slurp and it came topped with a generous amount of succulent chicken pieces, noodles, fish cake and tau pok that sponged up the gravy beautifully.

What we love about this place is how they don’t h0ld back on the amount of liao they add to their noodles. Each bowl brims with a generous amount of ingredients such as potatoes, tau pok, beansprouts, fishcake and of course, chicken. For just S$4, this is really quite a steal.

The curry itself is an incredibly rich and fragrant concoction of spices that has a very nostalgic touch to it. We also like how the coconut milk enhanced the richness of the curry without being too overwhelming.

One thing we would like to commend them for is their chicken. We do not exaggerate when we say that they have some of the smoothest — yes, smoothest! — and most tender chicken we have ever sunk our teeth into.

We also appreciate how you get to choose the type of noodles you can have in your chicken curry noodles. For us, we decided on bee hoon, but they have other noodles to choose from such as yellow noodles. Would we drive down again for a bowl of this? In a heart beat.
