Ah Lock Tofu – Hakka Tofu Bowls That Prove That Healthy Food Can Be Delicious Too

Yishun Park Hawker Centre, where Ah Lock Tofu is located, is home to many stalls serving delectable hawker delights. It also houses the well-loved Ah Tan Wings, specializing in one of Singapore’s most raved about zi char dishes – Har Cheong Gai.
Lesser known, but equally as delectable, is Ah Lock Tofu. This humble stall in Yishun serves up a lean, mean Hakka Tofu Bowl full of interesting goodies! Check out our review to see what we had and what we thought!
Ah Lock Tofu offers a Hakka Tofu Bowl at S$5.50 and a Thunder Tea Hakka Tofu Bowl at S$6.80. We wanted to taste their signature Hakka Tofu Bowl, so we ordered it to try!
Visually, the bowl is pretty stunning, almost resembling a Japanese donburi. A generous helping of rice is topped with a medley of ingredients – Long Beans, Manicai (Sweet Leaf), Deep-Fried Tofu and Tau Pok stuffed with Minced Pork Belly, Sesame, Seaweed, Chilled Tofu and a generous dollop of soy-based sauce!
Tasting the dish, we were blown away. Despite it looking extremely clean-and-green, it packed a huge punch of flavour. We loved how the creamy soy-based dressing tied all the toppings together harmoniously!
Our favourite of the toppings were the deep-fried tofu tau pok stuffed with minced pork belly. It was seasoned perfectly and added nice umami to the overall dish!
