World’s Tallest Tunnel Slide Opens in London – #YOLO
Standing at 178 metres, ArcelorMittal Orbit is the world’s tallest tunnel slide and now visitors can take an exhilarating ride down this massive infrastructure!
A journey down the ArcelorMittal Orbit commences from 74 metres above ground and takes 40 seconds to complete. While this landmark has been around since 2012, its slide extension is a new feature that everyone has been looking forward to.
ArcelorMittal Orbit is London’s newest and most exciting playground. Located in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the gigantic sculpture is the brainchild of British artist Anish Kapoor, while Belgian artist Carsten Höller is the designer behind the expansion, aka the slide. Expect nothing short of an adrenaline-pumping ride as you circle around the orbit’s loops 12 times before gliding down 50 metres straight.
Voted by Timeout as the number one thing to do in London, ArcelorMittal Orbit is predicted to be exceptionally busy, especially during peak travel periods. It is advised that interested visitors should purchase their tickets from the official website in advance to beat the queue and to enjoy further discounts.
Prices of tickets vary across different age groups – an early bird online ticket is currently priced at £5 for a child aged between 3 – 16 years old, while an adult ticket (17 years old and above) purchased at the ticket office itself costs £12.
