Weekends In The Park: Be Prepared To Experience Fort Canning Park Like Never Before On 04 March 2017
Fort Canning Park is definitely the place to be at this coming Saturday. “Weekends in the Park” is the first of a series of fun-filled activities that aims to enrich the mind and soul, whilst being in touch with nature.
This all-day event involves a range of activities that include wellness activities and even cooking demonstrations. The best part is that participation in these activities is absolutely free of charge. Yes, you heard us right. FREE!
Here is what you can expect at the Weekends in the Park.
Start off the morning at 8.30am by seeking your inner well-being with a yoga session and enjoy a wholesome breakfast after. For history buffs, relive the surrender of Singapore during World War II at the Battlebox at 9.15am.
Unsure of whether you subscribe to being the cook or the baker? Suss out that interest at the cooking with spices demo from 11.30am to 1.30pm at the Lewin Terrace. Thereafter, have fun perfecting that cake icing with the Fabulous Baker Boy at the Foothills at 3pm.
For the artistically inclined, experience pottery making at its finest by the world-renowned potter, Yukiharu Fururo, at The Foothills between 11am to 10pm. Closely examine Fururo’s flawless technique in his collection of award-winning ceramics inspired by nature.
The fun does not have to end just because the sun sets. Immerse yourselves in an unforgettable experience of catching the movie “Forever Fever” under the stars. Head over to the Lawn @ The Fort Canning Park at 7.30pm and remember to reserve your lounging spot early to avoid disappointment.
For the energetic little ones, fringe activities that include games and music performances will be available for children between 5.30pm to 7.30pm. To top it all off, bouncy castles will be operating throughout the day.
