Dread squeezing with the crowds on a public holiday? We feel you.
We’ve got an alternative activity for you on National Day! The former Tanjong Pagar Railway Station will be opened to the public on 09 August for visitors to go on a photo tour, and it will happen from 9am to 6pm.
A quick history about the significance of Tanjong Pagar Railway Station—train services used to run from Singapore to Malaysia on a regular basis before it ceased operations and was declared as a national monument in 2011.

Expect to see an array of photos displayed by The Singapore Land Authority from a recent contest ‘Celebrating Places and Memories’.
Visitors can also sketch their impressions of the historic site and drop them off at the former ticketing counter of Tanjong Pagar Railway Station. Drawings that are selected will be displayed at the platforms during the next open house.
It will be an exceptionally meaningful way of celebrating Singapore’s 51st National Day!
