Singapore Heritage Festival 2018—A Festival By Singaporeans, For Singaporeans

29 March
Singapore Heritage Festival

The 15th edition of the Singapore Heritage Festival is back in 2018—and better than ever. If you think that it is going to be just another boring learning journey, you thought wrong. From 6th April 2018 to 22nd April 2018, partake in this island-wide celebration of Singapore’s heritage and culture that is proudly brought to you by the National Heritage Board and delve right into an exciting line-up of programmes!

Fancy catching a film at a drive-in cinema reminiscent of Jurong in the 70s or getting some quality local grub by Singaporean hawker entrepreneurs? The National Heritage Board of Singapore have worked closely with close to 100 community partners and have prepared 120 programmes for all of us this April—including local film screenings, talks, opera and story-telling—for you and us all to have some fun whilst deepening our understanding about Singapore’s heritage.

The Singapore Heritage Festival will mainly feature three festival weekends in 5 key locations—Jurong, Jalan Besar, Chinatown, Bras Basah, and Bugis—while fringe events will be happening at other well-loved Singapore precincts and neighbourhoods throughout the duration of the festival.

Think over 25 open houses, films and talks at these various locations, and each with a different theme! With programmes themed ‘Disco Party’, ‘Movie Under the Stars’, ‘Singapore Hawkerpreneurs’ and ‘Face and Hand Painting’, there is surely something everyone will enjoy. From our built heritage to our intangible cultural heritage, including our traditions, customs, practices, as well as personal stories, there is more to take away from this experience than just fun alone.
