Shabu Tontei – S$15.90++ Super Value Shabu Shabu Set

Alongside the row of Japanese restaurants in Shokutsu Ten, a Japanese food street in Jurong Point Shopping Centre is Shabu Tontei—a restaurant specialising in Shabu Shabu and other pork dishes such as tonteki (pork loin steak) and tonkatsu (pork cutlet). The best part? Their Super Value Shabu Shabu Set is priced affordably at S$15.90++!

If you think this is just an ongoing lunch promotion, you are in for a surprise because it is the same price for dinner as well! Be prepared to queue for at least 15 minutes during dinner time or skip the crowd when you visit during lunch hours.

For S$15.90++, diners get to choose two types of meat (chicken/ pork/ beef/ seafood), their preferred soup base (Japanese Bonito Broth/ Spicy Citrus Broth/ Tonkotsu Broth), a variety of fresh vegetables, appetisers, chawanmushi, a bowl of Japanese rice and fruit.

Drinks are not included in the set meal.

We decided to go with chicken and premium beef for our Super Value Shabu Shabu Set. While the chicken is your average chicken chunks and minced meat with seasoning, we really enjoyed the thin beef slices which came with the right proportion of fats and lean meat.

Dipping the meat into Japanese bonito broth further enhanced the flavours of the meat as well. For those who prefer stronger flavours, you can pair your meat with condiments given at the side.

Additional add-ons include Pork Collar, Mushroom Set and Squid (S$5++). For a better selection, try their Salmon, Scallop, Prawn or Black Pork Collar (S$7++).
