Old Chang Kee Launches A Green Curry Puff – The Rendang Chicken’O
Don’t we all love Old Chang Kee – a household name and one that Singaporeans grew up with?
Curry’O is a traditional favourite, and it has never once disappointed us. And we rejoice as they launch an all-new flavour – the Rendang Chicken’O! This is in celebration of Hari Raya Puasa, and the curry puffs are even given a quirky green touch (made with edible food colouring)!
We’ve had a go with these limited edition puffs, and here’s our take.
The Halal-certified Rendang Chicken’Os are priced at S$1.80 each, and S3 for 2.
We are not sure if it was our lucky day or what, but the ones we got seemed to be slightly bigger in size than the usual Curry’Os. But that’s great news anyway, and we gobbled up two at a go.
The Rendang Chicken’O is generously filled with chicken and potato cubes. On the first bite, it honestly tasted like the classic Curry’O. But if you continue eating, the spices from the rendang kicks in, and that is when you can taste the difference. The chicken pieces gave the puff a nice texture, and the fragrance of the rendang lingers after every bite.
This limited edition Rendang Chicken’O will be available at all Old Chang Kee outlets from 04 Jul 2016 to 31 Aug 2016.
