They say our generation is obsessed with nostalgia. How many “Throwback Thursday” posts have you seen in the last week alone? It is not necessarily a bad thing. Having people go crazy over vintage and old school things is surely a good way of preserving history and heritage.
If you grew up in the 90s, you would know that our childhood was amazing. Before the time of smart phones and gadgets, we had to create our own fun and it is amazing how we utilised what we had back then for entertainment.
Here are 9 Nostalgic Items Only 90s Kids will Remember.
#1 FOLDED MESSAGE NOTES
Before the time of smart phones, we had folded up papers with messages inside of it that we would leave on each others’ desks. Love letters, jokes, gossips—it was used for everything, and seeing one every time always got us super excited!

#2 GAMEBOY
By Gameboy, we meant the one way before Gameboy Colour. One so “vintage” that you would not even be able to play in the dark as the screen had no lighting. We can still fondly remember playing Pokémon Red and having a blast.

#6 POP POP
These were huge back then but sadly, they have been banned in Singapore. When you toss one on the ground, it creates a loud “POP!” sound. For some reason, this simple game was wildly entertaining to 10-year-old us.

Everyone had a Tamagotchi back then, yes? People were drawn to the fact that your Tamagotchi is basically your pet and that you had the responsibility of taking care of a “life”.

Games such as Super Mario Bros and Sonic were huge back then and we can still remember the giant pixels and the horrible quality, but we will take that over the modern version any day.
