Car-Free Sunday SG is making a return this Sunday, 30 October 2016 at Telok Ayer area. Take advantage of the free rides on a “bike train” which will circle around Padang, join guided tours in Singapore’s oldest temple and visit the cafes along Telok Ayer and Amoy Street!

In order to facilitate this event, road closure timings will happen from 8am to noon at the Civil District; and 8am to 11am at Telok Ayer and the Central Business District areas. Be sure to take note of the various timings.

If you are there for the cafes, make sure you head there bright and early because they will be opening earlier than their usual business hours, starting as early as 8am. Have a filling breakfast before proceeding for the rest of the activities.

Make your way to Thian Hock Keng Temple at Telok Ayer Street for a guided tour to learn more about the history behind the oldest temple in Singapore, or go to the Pioneer Trail at Ann Siang Hill and Telok Ayer Green where participants can gain knowledge on the early trading days of Singapore’s earliest immigrants.

A specially created “bike train” by Mr Lee Tang Teng will be offering free rides around the Padang and there will also be trishaws available just to ferry the elderly around Civic District.

In addition, community cycling groups will be planning guided cycling trips using the Park Connector Network. Cycling enthusiasts should make use of this opportunity to join in with other like-minded buddies.

With programmes catering to all ages, it is the perfect plan for family day this weekend!
