Muslims who are thinking of traveling to Thailand can now do so with greater ease as Thailand has opened up its first “halal hotel” – think halal-certified food outlets and praying rooms.
The Al Meroz Hotel is conveniently located on the airport rail link route that links the Suvarnabhumi airport to central Bangkok.

The hotel is certified as halal by the Gulf Halal organisation in the UAE and apart from serving up halal food, there will also two prayer rooms and three halal dining halls in the building. Of course, this means that no alcohol is allowed either.
Expect the usual things you would see at a regular four-star hotel, complete with a large outdoor pool, meeting rooms, a gym, 3 restaurants and 242 rooms and suites.
The hotel management has plans to build more of such hotels to cater to the Muslim community in resort locations such as Pattaya and Hua Hin in the coming years. This is indeed good news for all Muslim travelers!
Room rates start from THB4,000 to THB50,000 per night.
