Birders Food

Opening its doors sometime in March this year, Birders is a contemporary yakitori and sake bar opened by ex-actor Adam Chen. With a menu curated by Chef Makoto Deguchi — an alumnus of the one Michelin-starred Sola Paris — you can be assured that your yakitori experience at Birders will be an outstanding and enjoyable one.

What sets Birders apart from other yakitori bars in Singapore is the fact that they have chosen to depart from traditional seasoning styles used in yakitori. Think umami, mentai and ume sauces; a world of Japanese soul food awaits you at Birders.

If you are looking for a new place to explore for post-work drinks and food, here’s what you can expect at Birders.

Birders Interior
In contrast to other yakitori bars that are rather dark, you would be greeted by warmly-lit restaurant interior that is just so inviting. You can either choose to take a seat along the walls of the restaurant or by the bar, where you can view your yakitori skewers grilled before your eyes.

Birders Yakitori

Diners will be spoilt for choice with the yakitori selection at Birders. It is clear that no effort was wasted in presenting a menu that would suit all palates and preferences.

Some skewers that you can look forward to include the Nagaimo Mentai (S$8), Sasami (S$4.50) and Thigh (S$3.50). And for those who are more adventurous, the Liver (S$4) and Heart (S$4) would be worth a shot.

Birders Tsukune

But one of the tastier skewers would arguably be the Tsukune (S$4.50). This comprises homemade tsukune chicken balls which had a nice crunch with each bite. Top it off with the combination of an onsen egg and tare as a side sauce, this will be akin to a party in your mouth.

Birders Small Bites

Aside from the fantastic selection of yakitori skewers, Birders also included a wealth of side dishes into its menu, that would go well with their yakitori sticks. This includes the Curty Croquetas (S$10), Birders Caesar (S$10), Umami Corn (S$6), Age-Harumaki (S$10) and Birders Wings (S$10).

All of these dishes are good for sharing.

One interesting sharing plate that you should try is the Liver Mousse (S$16). Comprising 4 deep-fried and crispy golden buns with yuzu marmalade and bourbon liver mousse on the side, this combination is a winner.

To complete your yakitori experience, be sure to try some of the sake that Birders has specially imported from Japan. And if you have any questions as to which sake to choose, their friendly staff would be more than happy to guide you along.
